Although we enjoy occasional social get-togethers, the primary purpose of the Lexington Meditation Circle of Self-Realization Fellowship is to provide regular opportunities for group meditation. In addition to bestowing peace and spiritual attunement, scientific meditation and the principles of balanced living taught by SRF offer a wealth of physical, mental, social, and spiritual benefits.
OUR FOCUS: Our services and meditation chapel are dedicated to the SRF teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.
As Paramahansa Yogananda reminds us, “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirant as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group meditation.”
Regular group meditations are a tremendous aid to one’s spiritual growth! Even relatively short periods of deep, devotionally attuned group meditation can have a transformative effect. When meditating with others, you receive strength and depth from the sincere efforts of fellow devotees, and you support their meditations by your reverent presence and your earnest efforts to focus singleheartedly on God. Thus in group meditations you help to deepen the meditations of others and, in turn, your own focus and communion with the Divine are heightened by the collective effort.
Additional information on our meditations is provided under the “Meditations” menu item.

Paramahansa Yogananda: “Meditation utilizes concentration in its highest form. Concentration consists in freeing the attention from distractions and in focusing it on any thought in which one may be interested. Meditation is that special form of concentration in which the attention has been liberated from restlessness and is focused on God. Meditation, therefore, is concentration used to know God.”
“EVERYTHING ELSE CAN WAIT, BUT OUR SEARCH FOR GOD CANNOT WAIT.”
